Earlier this year, rumours circulated that Wu-Tang Clan would be selling one copy of a secret double album which would be sold for several millions of dollars. It looks like The WU finally has an owner.
According to longtime Wu-Tang producer Cilvaringz, Skrillex is the man who has purchased Once Upon A Time in Shaolin — who seemingly gave it a cameo in his latest video for “Fuck That” directed by NABIL, available below.
SHAKE UPDATE: Yeah, so this didn’t happen. Upon reaching out to Civalringz via email, the Wu-affiliate confirmed with Complex that the album is indeed in the video, but Skrillex has not officially purchased it.
“Bro that was a joke, the album is not sold to Skrillex. It’s only in his new video for the song “Fuck That.” I would assume the sale of the album would be a grand official announcement, not a simple “yup” joking around with forum members we’ve been talking to for years.”
I’m actually glad someone wasn’t crazy enough to drop five million on a 2014 Wu album.
