Someone At ESPN Loves Run The Jewels As Much As You Do

If you watched the lead-up promos for the opening weekend of the NFL Playoffs (which were, for the most, part uneventful, save for the Lions/Cowboys matchup), you may have heard a familiar tune in between the dramatic shots of the Cardinals and Panthers…

For the unaware, that instrumental being played is the opening, title track to El P and Killer Mike’s 2013 album, Run The Jewels. This, actually, is less surprising than the time ESPN used Mobb Deep’s “Survival Of The Fittest” in a promo ad during the MLB Playoffs…

Someone over at ESPN holds a high ranking job, loves hip hop about as much you do, and puts the two of them together to both make a living and display that love across millions of TV screens across the nation. I’m totally here for all of that.
