Another classic, golden age rap album proves to stand the test of time today. On Jan. 21st – 30 years to the day – the legendary Run DMC released their sophomore album King of Rock to massive critical acclaim, helping to thrust Hip-Hop into the mainstream.

The album saw the trio of Jam Master Jay, Rev. Run & DMC experiment with a more-rock infused theme – steeping heavy metal riffs and thick drums into a potent concoction that would captivate and hypnotize fans across the globe.

The album spawned singles like the title track (see below), “Jam-Master Jammin” and “You Talk Too Much.”

Big ups to Run DMC, and Rest In Power JMJ!
