Popcaan & The OVO Crew Head To Jamaica

If you paid close enough attention to Drake’s spur-of-the-moment short film Jungle – which preceded his also spur-of-the-moment IYRTITL mixtape – you may have caught the OVO capo dropping a hint of Jamaican patois.

The intro to Drake’s quote-filled “Know Yourself” also features a little patois as well. Turns out, that intro features audio from dancehall deejay Popcaan who is also the subject of a new OVO documentary. Many of you Dopehouse visitors became hip to Popcaan from his work with Snoop Lion, Pusha T & Bobby Shmurda.

6 In The 876 follows a few OVO affiliates on their travels to Jamaica, led by Popcaan and his Unruly Gang and shows a look at the real Jamaica. The one they don’t show you on Travel Channel.

Watch the 20 minute documentary (shot by OVO Niko) up top and cop Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late – which just charted at #1 on Billboard and moved 494,746 units – on iTunes now.
