In the DrumBroker’s latest Behind the Beat series, producer Frankie P takes us inside his Brown Sugar Studios as he shows us how he created a few cuts of A$AP Ferg’s latest album Trap Lord.”

Frankie – who has four production credits etched in his belt on Ferg’s critically-acclaimed LP – breaks down in-depth how the monstrous “Make A Scene” came to fruition, including using the VSTs that came included in Native Instruments Kontakt, plus a few secrets he used to give it an vintage sound.

Later, he breaks down track number 9, “Didn’t Wanna Do That.” Utilizing the sample “No Morira Jamas” (also used by Damian Marley on “It Was Written”), Frankie wanted to give it an overall New York sound with a trap type of bounce.

Watch the in-depth interview (as a fly-on-the-wall) up top and come back next Tuesday for part 2!
