I think I actually tried something similar back in my early DJing days, around 1999/2000. Back then, I couldn’t cut for sh*t (and still can’t til this day) so I started out with blend tapes. Only, we didn’t have the same technology as we do now, so some of my blends sounded like a complete trainwreck (no pun).
Anyway, Ryan Stinson of Phonographique Records, (the label behind Roc Marciano’s “Three Sixty Five“) decided to mash up “C.R.E.A.M.” with David Bowie’s chart topping “Fame,” and the result is very impressive.
