I usually shudder when March 9th rolls around. No disrespect to Biggie; it’s just that the date usually marks that time of the year when struggle DJs and producers fiddle with classic Biggie verses and obscure beats/samples in an attempt to create a clever mash-up dedication mix that will be summed up in some random music blog’s end of the year, click bait Top 25 list. It usually ends in failure.
Production outfit Team Demo nailed it this year though. The producers behind 50 Cent’s “Crime Wave,” Kurious & Doujah Raze also dusted a few Denzel Washington snippets in for good measure.
