K. Dot’s To Pimp A Butterfly was fairly slim on the rap features side of things. Although the album did have it’s fair share of features from Bilal, George Clinton, Anna Wise and Snoop Dogg, Rapsody was one of, if not the only one to share more than a few bars.
Sitting down with Mikey Fresh at Vibe, the femme fatale broke down the song “Complexion (A Zulu Love),” how the collaboration came about as well as one of the more talked about tracks – the introspective, goose-bump-inducing closing cut “Mortal Man.”
