It’s a known fact that once the summer hits television, well, sucks. Most of the shows we watch throughout the year are on hiatus, and sports become slower when it’s just baseball around. Fortunately, with shows like Power, Orange Is The New Black, and True Detective those dog days aren’t as tedious.
Enter HBO’s upcoming new series. Already poised to take Entourage to the majors this summer, Home Box Office has now revealed its newest show: Dwayne Johnson – fresh from topping box offices with Furious 7 – unveiled his latest endeavor earlier today, will star in a new series “centered around a group of football players and their families, friends and handlers,” Ballers. Also starring Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine), the sports-themed series looks to be in the same vein as Entourage, which makes total sense as Mark Wahlberg is an executive producer of the show.
