Rhythm Roulette w/ Kirk Knight

In the latest Rhythm Roulette series, Kirk Knight – known for both his mic and soulful production skills – takes on Mass Appeal’s challenge.

By now, you already know the deal: Said producer heads to local/random record store, gets blindfolded and randomly chooses a few records (it could be anything from acid jazz to black death metal to polka). Producer then has to create out of what he’s picked.

Watch what Kirk constructs out of John Denver and The Muppets: A Christmas Together (LMFAO), the official soundtrack to Exodus and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Flower Drum Song.”

Kirk ended up using the strings from Exodus and portions of the “Flower Drum Song,” sprinkled in with a few Nas vocal samples and what comes out of it is very dark sounding – typical Pro Era grittiness.
