Remember in 2013 when this photo surfaced of JAY and Rae in the studio together? Shallah Raekwon had posted on an IG post (which has since been deleted) that they were finally going to work on some music together.
We were all hyped as f*ck. Then, nothing happened. No follow up details. Society continued on with their lives as if it never happened.
Well now, Rae opens up to AllHipHop’s OG, Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur about what happened to that collaboration, which was also supposed to feature Ghostface Killah. Originally, JAY had a vision of the two Wu emcees to get on a record called “Heaven” (which ended up being the Justin Timberlake-featured joint on JAY’s Magna Carta Holy Grail).
Imagine what could have been: JAYKWON. Okay, never mind. That sounds like a horrible name, and we don’t need to be reminded of a one J Kwon.
Anyway, at least we have Rae’s F.I.L.A. album to bang out to.
