For nearly a year now, Murda Mook and the 6 God have been throwing subtle jabs at each other here and there. In September, Mook posted a photo on IG which “allegedly” showed Drake telling Mook he wanted to battle.
Then, the battle-tested Harlemite hopped on Drake’s “6 God” single to throw a few lefts and rights at Drizzy and his OVO camp.
In February, Drake, at King of the Dots: Blackout 5 (in which he invested $10,000 of his own money) said he may one day enter the battle rap scene – but at the moment, “corporate stuff” is what’s getting in the way, even going as far as saying “I don’t know if Mook deserves it.”
During Smack/URL’s recent Night of Main Events 5, Drake – who was in attendance – was asked by the announcer if “This battle between you and Murda Mook will ever happen?” to which a confident Drizzy replied “You gotta beat Surf first before you can come see,” throwing the entire weight of a possible bout between the two on Mook’s shoulders.
