Mobb Deep Remixes “Survival Of The Fittest” For ESPN

If you didn’t remember, during MLB’s 2014 National League Wild Card games ESPN would air promos using a clip of Mobb Deep‘s 1995 classic “Survival Of The Fittest.”

Really dope stuff, in my opinion.

However, that same team at ESPN decided to take things up a notch and outsourced Havoc and Prodigy to provide the theme music for the opening of the network’s NBA Countdown throughout the Western Conference Finals. Care to take a guess what the song is a revision of?

Expect this song to blare out of television screens across America beginning next week.

The Mobb have also announced plans to release a new EP, the appropriately-titled Survival Of The Fittest. Alongside the song you hear above, there will four new songs from the duo as well. Expect that to arrive on May 18th.

Now, if we can get them to remix “Drink Away The Pain (Situations)” for the theme song of that brief yet agonizing boring period in the summer where the only sports worth watching are the Little League World Series and… like… bowling or whatever, we’d be in business.
