Back on 11/11/11, we posted a brilliant song called “Run & Hide” by Nashville native Openmic. After that? Nada. No follow-up tracks, no mixtape or album, nothing… or so I thought. Turns out the talented emcee had went through a name change and I never got the memo. Considering the massive amount of artists out there, it’s not difficult to understand how the mishap happened. Still, it’s unfortunate. He was sick then and sick(er) now, so I’m sure there were a load of gems dropped over the years that I haven’t heard – or was able to support.

Fast forward three and a half years, and our paths finally reconnect. While skimming through TIDAL’s Discovery list earlier today, I heard a familiar voice. My eyes shift, the above artwork is displayed, and the little hamster in my head began to sprint…

“Mike Floss? Nope, never heard of him. This song is dope though! My man Ducko McFli on the boards too!? Ok, let’s check this guy out.”

The timing couldn’t be better. Floss is gearing up to release his Don’t Blame The Youth mixtape, and “Dopeboy Dreaming” just so happens to be the lead single.

Dope, right? Download the track on iTunes, and hit up his SoundCloud page for more music. Oh, and another reason to mess with homie? G‘ma said so!
