Despite its many incarnations over the last several years, whether it was due to tragic deaths or inner-group turmoil, Slum Village will forever remain one of Detroit’s most influential hip hop groups. With T3 and Young RJ holding the torch now, SV will release their eighth album YES! on June 16th. However, fans can get an early listen to the project a few days early.
And why wouldn’t they? Alongside features from De La Soul, Black Milk, Bilal, Young RJ and many more, YES! is highlighted by previously-unreleased production from the late J Dilla whose works appear on eight of the album’s twelve tracks.
