Actor Quincy Brown and actress Kiersey Clemons – two of the cast members of the forthcoming coming-of-age dramedy DOPE recently stopped by Ebro In The Morning to talk about the film.
Quincy Brown, who plays Jaleel in the film, spoke about how he almost got a part on FOX’s Empire before Diddy – whom is considered a (step)father of sorts to the young actor/singer/producer – stepped in and intervened, allegedly because “the paper wasn’t right.” Fun fact, Jones is also the son of legendary R&B singer Al B. Sure!.
In case you missed it, the official soundtrack to the film will feature the likes of Nas, DJ Premier, A Tribe Called Quest and more!
Check for the Rick Famuyiwa-directed, Forest Whitaker-produced indie in theatres June 19th, with appearances from A$AP Rocky, Blake Anderson, Chanel Iman and more.
