Yonas Michael – “Westside” (Video)

blame it on Meka June 29, 2015

Yonas Michael has been a mainstay at the DopeHouse for a number of years now, since branching out on his own with his 2012 release The Mixtape Before Black Swan Theory. However, he’s continued to tease that project’s release ever since, and at this point I’m convinced the hairs on my chinny chin-chin will drop before Black Swan Theory does.

However, he’s backed up the delay with a string of incredible music from the long-in-the-works project. “South Pacific,” “Blessed” and “Concrete Love” have all been bangers in their own right, each of which shows the promise that made the DopeHouse fans when he went by Y-O and once teamed with THURZ as U-N-I. This latest drop – an ode to our respective home cities – is yet another heatrock, which gives me a lot of hope that his Black Swan Theory will be as aurally solid in its entirety as well.

You know, whenever Black Swan Theory decides to come out that is.
