Stones Throw cohort Guilty Simpson is set to release an album with Katalyst of the Quakers sometime “soon” according to Stones Throw. While we wait for the album to come, the label has unleashed a cut from the Detroit rapper and NYC producer called “Vanguard Organization.”
Sounding like something straight out of a Ghostface Killah and Adrian Younge studio session, Katalyst creates a eerie soundscape for Simpson to spit rhymes straight out of a Detroit alleyway describing the struggle to make it in the streets.
These two mix their sounds wonderfully together, so the duo’s next album will definitely stay on our radar. Listen to “Vanguard Organization” below.
