Maryland emcee Substantial has teamed up with Brooklyn producer Algorythm and Wayne for “Lasting Impression,” the first single off his upcoming EP Always. The EP is the second of three before the release of his album, The Past is Always Present in the Future.
Throughout the four minutes, Substantial hopes to capture your attention and leave a lasting impression over Algorythm’s Statik Selektah-influenced boom-bap production. The song is nothing out-of-the-ordinary, but it’s consistent in its content and flows — enough to leave a decent impression.
