
This past Saturday (July 11th) was the 11th installment of the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, which aimed to recapture the energy of its 2014 predecessor – which boasted a headlining performance from Jay Electronica, who brought out JAY Z – by inviting Common – Oscar/Golden Globe winner and awesome lip syncer – to the party, alongside LION BABE, Mobb Deep, Freeway, Charles Hamilton, Skyzoo, Consequence and many more. While the event itself was somewhat marred by various technical issues, the Festival received its fair share of surprises as well including Consequence’s young son coming out to perform with his father and a reclusive Foxy Brown rocking alongside Common.
