Over the last year, I’ve waited to hear a full project from British singer/songwriter/producer Azekel after hearing the throbbing “New Romance.” His new project, Raw, Vol. 1, was released today, and though we’ve heard most of the songs already, the 7-track EP is available to stream and download in its proper format.

Kicking off with what got me interested, Raw, Vol. 1 follows Azekel’s feelings of love and heartbreak, all the way up until he asks the subject of his love to marry him in “Holy Matrimony.” The project ends with the pleasing, piano-driven “Sold My Love,” where he can finally put the dark days of doubt behind him once the subject accepts his feelings. There aren’t many musicians around who write, produce, record and mix all of their music, and Azekel’s ability to maximize all those talents across a project will have him in a good place to shoot into the ears of many more outside of England.

Stream Raw, Vol. 1 below, and purchase it on iTunes.
