Kweku Collins is ready for the bright lights. The Chicago rapper is set to release his Say It Here, While It Safe EP in a week, and just before it’s unleashed, he expresses how blessed he is for the opportunity to rap and make money on the project’s latest single, “Kings.”

Collins can’t contain his happiness. “Today, we feel like kings,” Collins chanted over his own triumphant, melodic production. The emcee recently signed to Closed Sessions, which will release his EP on July 21, and the kid seems elated that they’re paying to fly him out to Los Angeles for a show. He’s happy that his rhymes can pay for a meal. The African drums and tempo in the song are a clear influence from his father, who plays various cultural percussions and had Collins play in show with him as your as four years old, according to his interview with Passion of the Weiss. Collins seems like a genuinely entertaining person that you want to succeed in the business for a very long time. Collins deserves to live like a king.

“My dad said he’s proud of me. And he meant it.” Listen to “Kings” below.
