As I said when BoodahDARR’s “Almighty” was posted last week, Milwuakee’s hip-hop scene is growing and growing. Even though the weekend is over, you can still ride to native newcomer BANKX’s latest single, “Weekend6,” though.
A member of Cream City Motion (IshDARR, Emaad), 17-year-old BANKX wants to party on the weekend on his new single. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that the emcee matches the flow of OVO cohort PARTYNEXTDOOR (and mentions partying), wants to party on the weekends (alluding to OVO member iLoveMakonnen’s “Tuesday”) and has a cover like OVO affiliate The Weeknd’s House of Balloons. And then the “6” is in the name title, because, well, Mr. OVO himself Drake (a reference to his upcoming Views from the 6).
