In a new mini-documentary, Closed Sessions highlights how its relationship with Boston artist Michael Christmas began, eventually linking him with Chicago producer Odd Couple.
Christmas, who was featured on Odd Couple’s most recent LP, Chatterbox, was introduced to Closed Session is 2013. Alexander Fruchter, the Chicago label’s founder, said Christmas looked like a character from The Simpsons when he first saw him and believed he was “larger than life.” The relationship eventually blossomed “Ever Did Before,” which wound up on Chatterbox. Closed Sessions documented Christmas’ first show in Chicago, as well.
