Back in the day, Adina Howard was one of the foremothers of the lustiest R&B backed by some of the most hip hop friendly backdrops. Songs like “Freak Like Me,” “T-Shirt & Panties” and “Nasty Grind” will forever have places in our hearts… and sex playlists. Well, after an all-too-long hiatus, Howard returns with a new style, sound and – most importantly – new song, “Bad 4 Me.”
Eschewing her older, fornication-friendly rhythms, Adina has instead fused the older sounds from the Motown era with today’s R&B/pop sensibilities. The end result is something that could have come from Amy Winehouse’s Frank sessions, and I’m totally here for all of this. While the song doesn’t hit iTunes until August 14th, fans can take a listen to it now below.
