My heart will forever remain with Southern California, as that was where I was bred and reared for most of my life. As such, there are too many things I miss about the place since I relocated to New York City: the near-perfect warm weather (which, as it ironically turns out, is actually killing the entire state), the food and the beaches. However, one of the biggest things I miss are its house parties, as those are about the most preeminent example of when all of SoCal’s urban culture comes together in a single showing of peaceful energy.
