Last month, we introduced you to John Givez with the release of “Elementary Trill” – a song that details the Oceanside, CA native’s coming-of-age story. Negative influences were clear and present at every turn but, thanks to his parent’s upbringing and being introduced to God, Givez was able to avoid becoming another statistic in the system and press forward on a more positive path.
Looking to bring the song to life, Segrey Kolivayko and Caleb Ekeroth were brought on to shoot and direct the official music video. Absent of any color, the black-and-white film starts with John’s baptism, before taking us through his childhood and the events that took place that led to it.
The Anthony Cruz and Ruslan-produced “Elementary Trill” will live on John Givez’s upcoming album, album, Soul Rebel – which, unfortunately, doesn’t have a release date at the moment. So, until then, check out the clip above and pre-order the album here. Doing so will score you an instant download of “Elementary Trill” and three extra songs.
