A drug dealer flips drugs and sex sales, but what’s an artist to do to provide a way of living? This is the dilemma Brooklyn-based band Phony Ppl (and every other artist out there) are faced with on a daily basis. When taking those first routes are out of the question, what do you do? You see Jeezy and Yo Gotti prosper off rhyming about Snow White, Jennifer Lopez and Nicki Minaj shaking their anacondas to sell albums – but, that’s not you. So, in order “To Keep the Lights On,” you must dig deep and let your own originality and passion drive you to success. Oh, and patience – you must have patience.
