The ever-so-talented Philly emcee Dayne Jordan dropped his Memoirs of Dayne Jordan LP just about a month ago, but it was released as one full, nearly hour-long track. Today, though, Jordan uploaded the album in its proper form and, with it, dropped the video for the album’s third track, the DJ Jazzy Jeff-produced “Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood.”
The track covers sights of Jordan’s youth, as he witnesses gangs selling and doing drugs and gets advice from his mother to stay away from the violence. He moves away from his street, later coming back a wiser man, but one who isn’t accepted by his hood anymore, claiming he’s “Hollywood” for reaching a little bit of success. On and upward, man.
Dayne is ridiculously talented, and DJ Jazzy Jeff curating the proper sounds for him turned to gold. Make sure you cop Memoirs of Dayne Jordan, and watch the video above.
