Last week, DaM-FunK‘s hour-and-a-half-long Invite the Light LP officially dropped. Along with his keytar (which is essentially a keyboard in guitar form), the synthesizer is such an important sound in his funky production. So in order to spread the sound, Damon Riddick sold some synthesizers out of the the trunk of his car in the streets of Los Angeles.
Dam briefly explained the meaning behind the name of his album and his sound. “I’m just trying to bring back some of the fun,” he said. He described a lot of people in the game huddled in a dark corner with “heroine sticks” coming out of their arm, and he just wants to bring the light back into music. “Instead of keeping it real, sometimes we should keep it fantasy.”
Watch Dam sell some synthesizers for extremely discounted prices below. This was awesome. DaM-FunK is, as the video is titled, DAM TRUNK.
