On a Friday full of solid projects dropping, whether they be from mainstreams like, Jay Rock or T.I., or rough underground hustlers (i.e. Verbal Kent), Baltimore native ELLIS creeps onto the DopeHouse with a previously released project, Ocean Grown.
Though from the streets of Baltimore, on first listen, ELLIS grabs his sound straight from a New York alleyway. Starting with “Super Conscious” produced by Statik Selektah, Ocean Grown surveys ELLIS’ upbringings with an influence of New York’s rugged, sample-heavy sound.
