With print 100 issues in the bag, The FADER is now making a move to produce visual cover stories. And for the launch, the New York-based mag selected Vic Mensa as the main focus.

Filmed in Vic’s hometown of Chicago, Down To Start A Riot is the result of director Aaron Brown spending a week with the Roc Nation emcee and his SaveMoney crew. From studio time to a stroll through Hyde Park – where Vic recalls seeing the body of a slain classmate as a teenager – the 12-minute clip breaks down his journey from SaveMoney freestyle sessions to signing with Roc Nation.
