What a got damn lineup.

Blu, MED and Madlib are working on the follow-up to The Burgundy EP, Bad Neighbor, and it seems we have the first sound from the project, the ridiculously funky “Knock Knock.” And to make it even better? It features MF DOOM.

Madlib absolutely destroyed the production as Blu follow DOOM and MED’s verses. They all come in with a ridiculous swagger, but it’s due in part to the beat forcing them to do so. This song sounds straight out of the early ’90s with its relaxed, funky West Coast vibes. Just stop what you’re doing, go to your car, roll the window down and just drive. You’ll have heads turning, thinking, “damn, what a fly ass muthafucka.”

“Knock Knock” is one of 15 tracks on Bad Neighbor, which features Mayer Hawthorne, Aloe Blacc, Anderson .Paak, DaM-FunK and more. Pre-order the album before its October 30 release via RappCats (where you can preview each song), and listen to “Knock Knock” below.

UPDATE: So the track leaked a little early, but we get the official version now along with an animated short starring MF DOOM. Listen to the song and watch the animation below.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Blu & MED did an interview with Rolling Stone where they discusses how they met, working with Madlib, their individual work and their hometown, Los Angeles. Read it here.
