The Game’s ‘The Documentary 2’ Is A Double-Album

blame it on Patrick Glynn September 22, 2015

[Editor’s Note: So this post was originally dedicated to The Game appearing on The Nightly Show… That is until he announced The Documentary 2 was a double-album with 38 songs!]

Monday night, The Game joined The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore to discuss cultural appropriation alongside Robin Thede and Cipha Sounds.

The panel talked about a range of topics from the white people putting her hair in cornrows, using the word “n-” word and, of course, using color-specific emojis.

The Game took a relatively relaxed approach to most of the topics. “They saw a hairstyle, they liked it, who cares who wore it first?” he said, regarding to Kylie Jenner putting her hair in cornrows. He followed saying that he doesn’t really care when people use the “n-” word in a non-derogatory way, obviously. “I think when I was ten, that would’ve offended me. But these days, everybody just kind of uses it.” If you ever send Jayceon a black emoji and you’re not black, though? “That’s offensive.” The Game has always picked his battle carefully, and the topic of cultural appropriation is no different.

Watch Wilmore’s panel, which always provides hilarity and insight on controversial topics, above.

The Game’s The Documentary 2 is set to drop October 9.

UPDATE: The Game appeared on Hot97 this morning to further promote The Documentary 2 where he discussed the ins and outs of the album, the “100” video with Drake, reality TV, and more. The bomb came at the very end though, when Game unveiled TD2 is actually a double album! On top of the 19 tracks we see now, a second disc will be released a week later on October 17th – for a total of roughly 38 new songs. God damn.

Proud to announce to my fans the REASON it took so long to get this album to you… Because it’s a MOTHAFUCKIN’ “DOUBLE DISC” !!!!! In a world where labels punk artists to keep their albums down to 10-12 songs… I don’t give a fuck so because 2 of my favorite artists in 2Pac & Notorious B.I.G. put out dope double albums… I figured 10 years into an iconic career I’d give my fans the opportunity to have one from me…… The reason one is a red bandana & a blue bandana is to bring awareness to the “100 Days 100 Nights” & on going Crip & Blood epidemic that has plagued my city recently & in the past…. & really explained to the world how things like this occur & have occurred since 1970 when gang bangin’ was created in Los Angeles & its surrounding cities & hoods….. The albums are very lyrical & descriptive as well as dope production wise & Dr. Dre approved….. This is AFTERMATH !!! & I cannot wait til you guys get these albums… Disc one is available now for pre-order just CLICK THE LINK in my bio…. & will drop October 9th in stores & on iTunes….. Disc 2 will be available shortly & will drop in stores & on iTunes the following week on October 16th !!!!!! I put everything I had into making this album #CLASSIC & I appreciate you guys for the love & support & definitely your patience with me completing this album – The Game #TheDocumentary2
