The live versions of Thundercat’s music never get old. Ever. That’s why when he makes an appearance somewhere, whether it be on a radio show or the Boiler Room, he gets my attention.
Recently, the bass extraordinaire arrived on the set of Santa Monica’s KCRW to perform two songs, “Heartbreaks + Setbacks” off 2013’s Apocalypse and “Them Changes” off this year’s Where The Giants Roam. I’m digging the hell out of this live version of “Them Changes.” There’s so much freestyling and emotion is Thundercat’s performances. Also, the instrumentals are mixed far better than when he appeared on Hannibal Buress’ show, so the whole event was more enjoyable.
