When you’re writing about music every day, albums that came out two weeks in the past seem like the debuted an eternity ago. That’s how I feel with Lana Del Rey‘s Honeymoon. After a small dabble, I realized there was still Mac Miller, Jay Rock, Milo, Big Grams, Fetty Wap and plenty more to simply sample before I could form any opinion on it.
After stepping away from Lana’s sound for a couple weeks, her latest visual, “Music To Watch Boys To,” has me wanting to return.
Her visuals occasionally revolve around showing intimacy and beauty it its most raw form (“National Anthem,” “High By The Beach“), and this new video is no different. Nearly the entire video is shown in slow motion as the Lana and her brigade of underwater ladies engulf in each other’s warmth. All the while, Lana stays propped up in her perfect posture with all eyes on her as she depicts herself as a beauty symbol — which she entirely deserves to be. While this may be music to watch boys to, it’s not a bad choice to watch gorgeous women to, either.
