FR Eazzy & TouchAMill – “No Chill” (Video)

Brownsville, Brooklyn’s adopted slogan is one that clearly rings out, and one that most certainly rings true: “Never ran, never will.” For years, this unofficial motto has sprung up in rap songs from Smif-N-Wessun and Talib Kweli to Maffew Ragazino and the late, great Sean Price. There’s something sinister stewing just beneath the concrete streets of The Ville that produces an incredible “breed” of emcee. Not to mention, it’s a pretty tough fucking place to live and survive.

Following in that lineage are two new, young players to the game: FR Eazzy & TouchAMill of RoRo Life Entertainment. The pair of unruly rappers are looking to break out with a new single that is accompanied by a matching visual titled “No Chill.” The video and song will certainly create a rift between the “Dopes” and “Nopes” – while we won’t be entertained with the wild reckless abandon of say an M.O.P., Originoo Gunn Clappaz or Heltah Skeltah (whom all lay claim to Brownsville) or the expertly crafted lyricism of KA or Killah Priest, one might catch the holy spirit by way of Bobby Shmurda’s bawdy influence.

“No Chill” is fun and energetic rap that, given the right push and marketing, may just have the staying power to survive amongst a city flowing full of cut-throat pirates. And admit it, the song, although lively, is pretty fucking hardcore. I don’t know, what do y’all think?
