Season two of Empire is in full swing, and even though Meka and Shake strongly advise me to watch Power over the FOX ratings smasher, I feel like I’m leaning toward Empire. Maybe it’s because the public is leaning that way and my decision-making of what I like can sometimes be influenced by public pressure (i.e. Future, shots of tequila). Even though 50 Cent is on Power’s side, Empire has Timbaland. And, more importantly, Empire has Taraji P. Henson.
One of the songs that has stemmed from Timbaland’s relationship with Empire is “Smile,” which features a star from the show, V. Bozeman. The song came out a little under two months ago as the promotion for Empire was starting to ramp up again, and today, after the season’s second episode, the music video surfaces.
“Smile” is the first single off Timbo’s upcoming LP, Opera Noir, and you can watch the fun-loving, lighthearted visual, which features friends, couples, family members and more singing the song to each other, above.
