The last time Will Smith had a new song, YouTube was newly launched, Batman Begins reinvented the Dark Knight in cinemas, and Kanye West let his feelings be known about then-President George Bush on national television. The last time Will Smith had a new song, I was currently holed up in an Inglewood apartment, the XBox 360 (and its infamous Red Rings Of Death) debuted, and I didn’t know who or what a Shake was.

It has been over a decade since the Fresh Prince dropped music, his fourth solo album Lost and Found. Since then, he’s gone on to conquer Hollywood millions of times over (I’m highly interested in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie), and now his son Jaden and daughter Willow are primed to take over musical mantle. However, Will hasn’t entirely given up on music, performing sporadically on late-night shows and – every now and then – with his old running buddy Jazzy Jeff, and revealing via interviews that he has been in the studio lately. And today he’s made his official return to music, joining multiple Latin Grammy nominee Bomba Estéreo on the remix to their single “Fiesta.”

Okay, so it’s not the greatest song out there, but for purely nostalgic purposes I’m here for Will getting back on the microphone. Now that he has? Eh, let’s get back to the normal trap and crap we all drunkenly sing along to at parties.
