While the other members of the DopeHouse continue to PIPE IT UP! until their ears fall off of their heads I’ve been listening to music that is a bit more subdued, and leading the charge is the Louisville slugger Bryson Tiller. After Pen Griffey released his debut album, T R A P S O U L, on September 24th the project has received a steady stream of play throughout my headphones, and has become one of my favorite projects of 2015.
Bryson returns now with a visual treatment for the project’s second single, following up his breakout song “Don’t,” the Timbaland and Milli Beatz-produced “Sorry Not Sorry.” Sampling – of all things – Guile’s level from Street Fighter 2, the clip has Tiller taking a stroll through some familiar stomping grounds (while, as is the norm, his visage remains largely concealed in the shadows) while reminding those who curved him that he’s not here for them now that he’s on.
