The entire roster of Top Dawg Entertainment is loaded with multi-dimensional talents from all corners, and it is not just limited to their musicians either. Dave Free – manager of one Kendrick Lamar – also is a deejay, producer (as a member of the Digi+Phonics), and an aspiring director (as one-half of The Little Homies, with Kendrick), engineer maven MixedByAli is also a tour deejay for various TDE acts, and TDE president Punch is also an accomplished rapper on the side.

With a myriad of dope one-offs to his name, Punch returns with his first new musical offering since “Fear” in the form of “Uninspired.” With the same Jerry Butler sample found in DJ Honda and Yasiin Bey Mos Def’s “Travellin’ Man,” Punch provides some perspective on how the hood life can alter one’s point of view. While it’s unlikely to happen at this point, I would definitely like to see what a potential full-length project from Punch would sound like.

Oh, and is the BJ The Chicago Kid I hear as well?
