This past weekend, the annual two day Treasure Island Music Festival took place in San Francisco. Among the long list of performers were Hudson Mohawke, FKA Twigs, CHVRCHES, Big Grams (Phantogram & Big Boi) and Run the Jewels.
Although the festival was, for the most part, dominated by indie rock, EDM and alternative acts, the latter two groups kept things interesting for Hip-Hop fans in attendance. Below, watch Sarah, Josh, Big Boi, El-P and Killer Mike give the crowd an energetic performance of their collaborative song “Born To Shine” off their just released self-titled EP.
Following the stellar performance with his RTJ bredren, Big Boi proceeded to launch into “Ms. Jackson” while the lovely Sarah assisted with airy back up vocals. Mid-way through the song, all three segued into “Mouthful of Diamonds” from their 2010 debut, Eyelid Movies. Watch that clip below.
Check out even more clips below, including performances of “Objectum Sexuality”…
And “Run For Your Life.”
Rumor has it that Phantogram are already working on their next project, tentatively titled III. Hopefully we get that before the end of the year! For now, purchase the EP on iTunes; pre-order on wax available now via Fat Beats.
