The term “new J Dilla” has been thrown around quite a bit, so much so that it’s almost difficult to believe it since he passed nearly a decade ago. So when Vintage Vibez Music Group announced that a new posthumous project from him, Dillatronic, would offer up 40 previously-unheard instrumentals, it was hard to believe it. But true to their word – with some help from Ma Dukes – the first offering from the project is, in fact, an original instrumental.
That beat, “Dillatronic 34,” sounds culled from the basement of a Wu-Tang studio session, and would have fit right at home on a Method Man album in the 90s. If the other 39 tracks are similar to this, fans will definitely receive a welcomed gift when it arrives October 30th.
