Watch the Trailer For Netflix & Marvel’s Original Series ‘Jessica Jones’

During this year’s New York Comic Con, one of the most talked about news was the official debut for the trailer to Netflix and Marvel’s original series, Jessica Jones. In fact, fans who attended were even given the special treatment of watching the entire pilot episode, with all 13 episodes set to air on Nov. 20th.

Today, Netflix has unveiled the official 2 1/2 minute trailer, and boy is it dark! I’m a huge fan of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but as with most Marvel property (especially the ones that air on ABC), it’s a lot more light hearted than say, Daredevil.

The series stars Krysten Ritter (best known for her role as Jane on Breaking Bad) as Jones, former superhero turned detective, who investigates other persons with gifted abilities (*cough* InHumans *cough*). The show will also star Mike Colter as Luke Cage (a key character who will also be getting his own solo series in 2016, all leading up to Marvel’s The Defenders, following Iron Fist) and David Tennant as Kilgrave/Purple Man.

As with all of these properties, they belong to the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe, so expect lots of crossover events and fun easter eggs, although I honestly think the likelihood of The Defenders tying into shows like AoS or Agent Carter will be slim. It’s Marvel though, so you never know. There’s a very strong theory that The Defenders could end up on the big screen in the near final show down in Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 & 2.

Watch the trailer up top, and be on the look out for Marvel’s Luke Cage in 2016, followed by Marvel’s Iron Fist and finally Marvel’s The Defenders in the near future, all on Netflix.
