French Montana & Fetty Wap Team For ‘Coke Zoo’ Mixtape

Clearly, we can blame Drake and Future for all of this (we’re going to pretend that Tyga and Chris Brown’s projects don’t exist).

If it weren’t for the two getting together for What A Time To Be Alive, there wouldn’t be (an assumed) hordes of rappers planning to sneak-drop collaborative projects. But, that’s how rap music is these days: one person does it, and the rest of the world follow suit. That’s why we have so many “surprise drops” these days our sleep patterns at the DopeHouse are so wrecked that we don’t know left from blue sometimes.

Which brings me to my point. Bronx-bred French Montana and New Jersey-reared Fetty Wap literally make the unlikeliest of duos to team up for a joint project. Whereas Drake and Future have had a working relationship for a few years running now, French and Fetty don’t really have a really deep catalog together save for a remix of “Trap Queen.” But lo and behold, the two have dropped said project, Coke Zoo, or what I like to call it, I Guess It’s Okay To Be Living (or, Now That I Think Of It, Not Dying Isn’t A Bad Idea After All). At 13 tracks, the project features various members of Fetty’s Remy Boyz crew (Monty, Zack) and French’s Coke Boys/Bad Boy team (Lil Durk, Diddy), as well as the aforementioned Chris Brown. Grab Coke Zoo, and be prepared: I anticipate projects like these to be commonplace in the near future.
