Remember the little girl from the films Akeelah and the Bee and Barbershop 2: Back in Business? Well that girl, Keke Palmer, has grown up into a young, aspiring multimedia mogul. Currently a regular on FOX’ Scream Queens, Keke has also hosted her own daytime talk show, was the first African-American to star as the titular character in Cinderella on Broadway, and – somewhat hilariously – portrayed Chili in VH1’s awesomely terrible biopic CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story. Returning to the music world (she’s released one studio album and three mixtapes since 2007), she debuts her new set of visuals for “I Don’t Belong To You.”
Produced by London On Da Track, the song is a typical affair about a whilrwind romance that has run its course because Keke apparently isn’t one for being claimed by anybody. The video also stars Rotimi (aka, “New Tommy” from Starz’ Power) and Cassie, but it’s clearly obvious that Keke Palmer is the star of the show (and years removed from her True Jackson, VP days).
