Of all the artists who were signed to Eminem’s Shady roster, Obie Trice was perhaps one of the most underappreciated. Chintzy first single aside, Mr. Real Name No Gimmicks could stand toe-to-toe with some of the label’s top lyricists with ease. While he’s long left the label (in 2008) Obie still continues to do his thing on the lyrical tip, and dropped his fourth album The Hangover on his own label Black Market Entertainment.
Recently stopping by the Audiomack Studios in SoHo, NY, Obie is their eighth artist to participate in DJBooth’s Bless The Booth series, where he would join forces with producer T-GUT for this new offering “You Wrong.” With a piano-driven backdrop, Obie delivers bar after bar of heat for over three minutes. As a side note, I still believe “Cry Now” and “Oh!” are two of the best songs from the entire Shady catalog. But I digress; check out “You Wrong” below.
