Two new GoldLink songs in two days? We’re ALWAYS here for that.

After debuting “Dark Skinned Women” on BBC Radio 1 on Tuesday, the DMV native drops “New Black” ahead of his And After That, We Didn’t Talk LP set to drop November 13. Straying away from his bouncing, party raps of love and groove, GoldLink dives into the issue of rappers lying all the damn time. He promises “hip-hop will die” if “we keep talking guns and gats in our raps.” While there’s no doubt that some rappers were deep in the trap previous to them finding a new career, there are many who are trying to become famous off rapping about the same things that people ACTUALLY went through. The rap world does a decent job of weeding out the fakes, but the general idea of taking someone else’s experiences and using them for your own story is something that could cause the roots of hip-hop to crumble from within.

Listen to “New Black” below.

UPDATE: Welp, turns out GoldLink is ready to drop And After That, We Didn’t Talk THIS WEEK. The original date was November 13 (next Friday), but it’s been bumped up a week to November 6. In a press release from Soulection, the label releasing the album, they revealed, “He said he was ‘ready to get this to the world’ and in the nature of a young artist in 2015 said fuck it lets drop it now why wait another week.”

So there ya have it. OH. And check the track list below.
