Ever since EarthGang made their first appearance at the DopeHouse with a much-deserved 2Dope To Sleep On post at the top of last year, we’ve been championing the ATL duo any chance we get. And for good reason… they’re consistent as f*ck!
From February’s Torba EP to the Spillage Village compilations (Bears Like This x Bears Like This Too), Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot have remained towards the top of my favorites list with videos for “The F-Bomb” and “The F-Bomb (Remix),” tracks like “Metropolis” with J.I.D (another favorite) and Childish Major, and not to mention, an incredible live show, which was on full display during Ab-Soul’s These Days… Tour – and will be on display during Mac Miller’s upcoming GO:OD AM tour.
Today is all about Strays With Rabies, though, the brand-new album from EarthGang releasing tomorrow via Empire Distribution. Led by the previously-released “A.W.O.L.,” the fourth album from the ATLiens includes 14 tracks total, with features from J.I.D, Marian Mereba, MO, Meegs, and Sheeda.
“This project is a reflection of our journey as artists and our actual excursions across the map,” wrote Doctur Dot in an email to The FADER. Johnny Venus has a similar response regarding the objective of the album: “It was created out of the necessity to champion freedom, liberation and the individual unique qualities which tie us all together on this planet,” he added.
