We first heard of Nef The Pharaoh, a vicious emcee from the Bay Area, when fellow West Coasters YG and Ty Dolla $ign hopped on the remix to his song “Big Tymin’.” With the modern-day DJ Mustard West Coast sound behind him, the 20-year-old introduces himself to the world with seven tracks sans features outside of the aforementioned remix.

Quickly hopping through Nef The Pharaoh, you can tell the rapper is an combination of many influences from YG to current-day Lil Wayne to Rae Sremmurd. Extended plays are great ways to try out different flows and use of vocals to see which ones people gravitate toward, and the young emcee takes great advantage of that.

Stream Nef The Pharaoh’s self-tlted EP below, and head to iTunes to pre-order a copy before it drops on Friday.
